EXPECTING START DATE WITHIN FIRST QUARTER OF 2018

 

We are seeking a Director of Medical Records to be responsible for leading and directing HIM services across the system; striving for compliance and promoting best practices and education in all areas of coding, documentation and the legal health record. The Director will ensure adequacy of systems for acquiring, analyzing, storing and retrieving information so that it can be readily available. This position will provide administrative direction and education to ensure safe, efficient, high quality delivery of services through the use of data.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management. Masters preferred.

Previous experience as Director of Medical Records for a minimum of 5 years. Experience implementing health information management best practices, processes and procedures, application of federal requirements and accreditation standards related to management of health information systems. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is crucial.

Required to be proficient in HIM skills: EMR management, CMS regulations, JC standards, HIPAA, PII/PHI, electronic record management and reporting, comprehension of ICD 10 coding, document storage and transcription. Demonstrated ability in the collection, interpretation/analysis and reporting of data as generated through incident reports and reporting from the EMR. Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook. Demonstrated leadership/supervisory skills, initiative in problem solving and working cohesively with other departments. Must possess general accounting knowledge and budgeting skills.        

All positions require a TST, MMR Titer, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background records check.
